Even lighting comes before filters
Place the page flat against a contrasting background and use even, diffuse light. Watch for shadows from your phone, hands, and lamps. For glossy paper, move the light or adjust your position to reduce reflections. Strong filters can erase pale text, stamps, or pencil marks along with the background.
Keep the camera parallel and focus on text
Clean the lens and keep the camera parallel to the page. Include all four corners and avoid a strongly trapezoidal page shape. Focus on the text and hold the phone still. Zoom into the smallest print after taking the photo; a thumbnail is not enough to judge readability. Retake a bad photo rather than expecting PDF conversion to restore missing detail.
Crop first and check every exported page
This web tool combines, rotates, and lays out images. It does not automatically crop, remove shadows, or correct perspective. Crop in a trusted image editor before adding files if needed. Use Clear quality, then open the actual PDF to inspect page order, text, table lines, and orientation rather than judging only the thumbnails.
Readable text is not the same as searchable text
An image PDF contains photos, so its text is not selectable or searchable like ordinary document text. A text layer requires OCR, which can make mistakes: verify contracts, amounts, and reference numbers carefully. For regular iPhone scanning and document organization, explore our FlashScan app. Check the App Store for suitability, pricing, and regional availability.
Images and PDFs are processed locally in the browser. No OCR or HEIC conversion is included. Download your file before closing the tab.
